what we've been up to...

ridge also received, from santa, a racetrackish thing, a dancing mickey (which is hilarious and Ridge loves it-- thank you, you know who you are), the toy story couch, a singamajig (which is annoying but hilarious), a red bouncy ball, and a turtle zoobie (um, best pillowpets ever-- way soft....they are a stuffed animal/pillowpet with a super soft blankie inside...well worth the extra $7-$10 over the regular pillow pets...bc they are WAY softer)

sawyer got, from santa...a ginormous tub of lincoln logs, some beef jerky (which he was pumped about), a bb gun (which he didn't really care for), a green bouncy ball, a singamajig, a red monkey zoobie (same thing as ridge's turtle zoobie...AWESOMENESS), and a big ninja turtle box full of ninja turtles. old ninja turtles. as in, all of the ninja turtle stuff he got was from the 80s and 90s and ebay is my friend.

birthday extravaganza(S)!

Okay, for Sawyer's birthday, his ACTUAL birth day, the DAY he turned four, he and I met up with two of my girlfriends and their kiddos @ Red Robin. Cuteness abounds:

These girls are gonna drive the boys crazy! Look how pretty they are!

And this little handsome man is only five days younger than Ridge, and so stinkin' cute!

Here are all the kiddos with their balloons. Little boy on the right-- spitting image of his daddy, and what a ham in these pictures! Those kids loved those balloons. Sawyer didn't want to take pictures though.

Okay, Sawyer asked for lemon cake for his birthday. That is NOT chunky elmer's glue on top of it. It's lemon glaze, and it was good. So...there.

Ridgey didn't feel well...but he's still cute!

Okay, both boys woke up at the hospital on their birthday. Both boys were greeted with a birthday sign from the nurses. Here is Ridge's. I told you, I forgot to take pictures of Sawyer's stuff on his birthday. I know, Loooooooooooo-ser.

These are some of our loooovely nurses! All were present to celebrate Sir Ridge's first birthday. I'm showcasing some of his bday stuff here bc I never did an adequate party post for him. And now I'm too tired to find all those pictures again. So he has LOTS of pictures but gets less of a showcase than Sawyer did up above....anyway, we love these girls!

In between Ridge and Sawyer's birthdays, we had a joint party, which ALSO happened at the hospital. Here's how it went down. CAMO. These are camo cupcakes. They looked way less glamorous when finished. I iced them with vanilla bean buttercream and dark chocolate buttercream. The cake looked like green mold after they were baked. And I wasn't overall impressed with the recipe. But I could've eaten twelve bowls of that icing.

Here's a shot of some of the decorations. I have more, but again, too tired to mess with that right now. It was cute. And a lot of people came to the party. And we got way too many presents! HAPPY BIRTHDAY, BOYS!

happenings lately

Sooo....business wise, here's what I've been up to. Summer headbands, $7.50. They are lightweight yarn, so they wouldn't be hot. I mean, you could wear them year round, but they are spring/summer appropriate as well.

I'm totally in love with this apron. If it weren't already purchased, I'd keep it for myself! It took all day to make, but my goodness, I LOVE it! Very retro...verrrrry verrrrry adorable! I hope who receives it loves it!!!

The other day, I was able to clean my entire house while Brandon was at work, and Ridge was with me. Ridge doesn't play well alone, and wants to be held like 98.6% of the time. So...how was I able to clean my house, all of it, and make these for Sawyer -- and myself-- (which are just like the ones my Mamaw used to make at Christmas):

AND these, which I love even more, and was so glad I had strawberries on hand, and leftover chocolate to put on them.....(but it really was too bad we ate them all, bc Gibby came, and she loves them!)

So, how did I do it? Well praise be, glory be, thank you Lord, and hallelujah....Ridge, even with IV cords and pulse-ox cords and a medicine pump and bag.....can STILL rock it in the sling! i LOVE my hotsling! and Ridgey does too:

i loooove flowers. planting them. receiving them. smelling them. looking at them. whatever. love them. so on Easter, I planted some flowers. I only took backyard pics. So here ya go.

I also love turquoise. And yellow. And hot pink....and on and on...

we also planted a garden again this year, including strawberries! a couple of teeny green berries sit waiting....so exciting!

Sawyer....loves shrimp. He ate and ate and ate this shrimp the other night. to be honest, it WAS rather good.

I found Sawyer a few cute things at our local consignment sale this week. Including the super cute vintage pearl snap shirt he's sporting in these photos....

Ridge got a walker at the sale. I'm opposed to walkers. However, when your child, who is attached to 3 ft of cord by another cord in his CHEST, and who wants to walk, improvising is mandatory. So, against my better judgement, I got him a walker. But when that line is gone, so is the walker.

Here are some photos of my most recent things. A few things you should know: Some people have asked about having jewelry parties. SURE! Give me about a month's notice so I can get some supply made up, and I will bring some jewelry to your house, or wherever, for a party! You get first pick of the jewelry, and that pick will be free to you for hosting the party! I would also be glad to throw any kind of party- don't want jewelry? aprons, crocheted whatevers, burp rags, baby stuff, signs, whatever, you tell me what you want me to bring, and i will bring it! Hope you enjoy the pics!

I'm just gonna start with the big one. This is some stuff for an upcoming jewelry party. I'm about halfway finished with making product for it. See anything you like? ALSO, I decided to make myself some signs for parties, and for craft shows, etc. Signs for me, advertising our company. However, after I was finished, and they turned out rather cute, I thought, "HEY! i could make those for OTHER people!" So....baby names? verses? artsy stuff? I have a cricut, so I can do pretty much anything. You just let. me. know. I figure I can make signs anywhere from $10-$30, depending on what you want, and what I actually have to purchase to get it done. Of course, price could be more than that if you commission something rather large. Anyway, so there's that.

This cross necklace is for a jewelry party. The following necklaces are Team necklaces. Name your team, and I can get the necklace ready. The team necklaces are about $20, depending on supplies.

The Mustang necklace and the turq. and purple bracelet are door prizes for FBC Mustang's BUNKO night 4/8. So heads up, if you're a lady going to that...those will be there! The back of the Mustang necklace says "Mustang."

because they are zoomed in, you can't (maybe) tell what this is...these are cupcakes. I made a set of them for a certain young lady's birthday coming up, but I'm not mentioning names.

We colored Easter Eggs. It was fun. Here are the 2 pics I got.

These last few are just for fun. Here you see Ridge....eating a book that Sawyer received for Christmas last year. Ridge likes to get under the desk and get that book...daily. You also see ~~three~~ two chrashed boys. Sawyer can outlast everyone in this house.

Also, we have this novelty that my mom had printed. For those of you who don't know, YHS Deca had Team Ridge shirts made and sold them for $10 a few weeks back. LOTS of people bought them. So now, when we all wear OUR Team Ridge shirts, he can wear HIS, so everyone knows exactly who's who.

And lastly, some photos of Sawyer around the same age as Ridge. I keep thinking they look more and more different than alike. Then I look at these pictures, and no. They still look verrrrrry verrrrry similar. Similar. That's a new word Sawyer has mastered. Or something.

Happy Easter, Happy Easter! Tomorrow, we are hoping to go to church, hoping the Easter Bunny visits, and hoping to get flowers and a garden planted. Here's to HOPE!

Okay, I am fully aware that I have not posted here in forever. I am also aware that the date stamp on my camera is wrong, which would normally not bother me too much....but I am afraid it will inhibit my ability to tell my children apart one day since Ridge didn't live in 2007 but Sawyer did. Perhaps at a closer glance, I will notice the stupid bag of meds and remember that Sawyer didn't have that. So here's what we've been up to photo-wise. These first three jewelry photos are the last entries for the fashion show in New Mexico. I think they all turned out super cute. I have several jewelry orders in the works, a couple of jewelry parties, and some new ideas. I need to get busy. But instead, I'm blogging.

I had ordered Sawyer some books from his school book fair. We read them one night. Ridgey even likes to read books with us. Ridgey also likes to crawl. Even crawling over the rails and under the high chair was no difficult feat for him, as you can surely see....

Sawyer likes to help with Ridge. Here, he is helping feed Ridge. It must be necessary for him to open his own mouth as well....kinda like I do when I put on mascara. The next picture is of my new haircut. I had 9" chopped off and was able to donate it. I was bummed bc Locks for Love requires 12", but my friend told me about Pantene Beautiful Lengths, which only requires 8" for donation. So off went my rat tail (that's what BDawg called it) to Wisconsin. The last picture is of me helping Sawyer put on an apron so he could help me make spaghetti sauce. He didn't like wearing the apron...but he sure liked the spaghetti!

ridge has been trying some veggie puffs....he likes em. tonight, we had some more tilapia; it's weird bc it's the thing sawyer eats best (it and salmon...go figure)....so we've been having a lot of fish. last night, however, we made pizzas. so here are some photos of our home cooked cuisine! it's sometimes more work to cook than to just order something- or all the time it's more work i guess- but eating together and cooking together is a good trade off.
the pizzas, of course, weren't very healthy....but tonight our dinner was!

for the pizza, i bought the crust that you just bake- no rolling, no mixing...it's just on the aisle with the pizza sauce...or maybe it's on the bread aisle at your store, i don't know. we had canadian bacon, pepperoni, green pepper, olive, mushroom, and artichoke hearts (no win there, with ANY of us). but the pizza itself was good! sawyer added a whole bag of cheese to his and brandon's pizza (right side)...mine, on the left, was sans cheese since i have to avoid mucho dairy until the ridger isn't dependent on me for food.

tonight, like i said, tilapia again. we had baked tilapia with mango and avacado salsa....with whole wheat pasta in chicken broth, and some vegetable blend with broccoli, edamame (well, no, bc that's what it is called IN the shell, but i forget what it is called OUT of the shell), carrots, and water chesnuts. and it was a hit!

Category one: visitors

Some of my former students visited over Thanksgiving break. We had fun catching up and hanging out, and Sawyer especially enjoyed when the boys visited. I have been so blessed to work with such great students in our great community. It was wonderful to see a few of them again.

Visitor one: Jill. Jill visited one afternoon when it was just Ridge and I. She even held him and he loved it, so much so that he slobbered all over her shoulder.

Visitors two and three: Awesome and Calep. AKA Austin and Caleb. Sawyer loves these dudes. Probably because they never show up without super cool toys are just great guys.

Category TWO: craftiness.

Maybe you've already seen these:. This is one aspect of my craftiness here at the hospital.

Here is another, although this is the softest, it is not necessarily my favorite, of the scarves I've made.

No, it isn't for Sawyer. It's not manly enough. And every scarf I've made is different, so if you're in the market for a scarf but don't like this one, don't judge. I will post more pics when I finish my current projects.

Here's some more craftiness...and if you follow my FB/Twitter stati, you know that I spoke of this as an epic fail. Apparently, it wasn't as much of a fail as I thought.

It's not really higher on one side, he has it on lopsided. I promise. So apparently, it actually fits. It's a little loose around in circumference, but I can fix that. I was worried about the length, but it was nothing a little blocking couldn't fix, apparently. I'm not gonna lie. I was stoked when he tried it on and looked that cute. It's camouflage.

Last craftiness, thanks to Hobby Lobby. If you are needing a cute, cheap craft, this is it. Warning- no glue comes with it and Elmer's DOESN'T work. Gotta break out the glue gun for this- or send your husband to Wal-Mart on Black Friday to buy one, like I did. So now I even have a glue gun at the hospital. Anyway, this craft is only $4.99, and it makes FOUR. I think this would be so great for party favors/party crafts...and there are four different sets to pick from!! Sooo cute. Sawyer and I picked these out and made them Friday afternoon. They are PUPPETS!

Category Three: the bet.

Brandon and I had a bet that we would/wouldn't be outta here by Thanksgiving. I won. We weren't. What did I win? A pair of Tom's. I had to be strategic here bc I asked for three pairs for Christmas. So I couldn't buy a pair I'd asked for bc I didn't want to have to return anything, in CASE I actually get a pair like I asked for. So I bought these:

you don't have to like the babylegs. but i sure think they're cute. and so is the baby who wears them. and here's the greatness of them-- i don't have to pull down his pants to change his diaper...plus, with ridge's central line, i think it's difficult for him to wear pants anyway. so these are perfect.

ha. i did get one of him smiling, but it wouldn't upload. in his defense, he literally has just woken up in this picture. but i'm sure he couldn't care less.

what is this? hmmm....try the view out my window this morning. the view of downtown OKC...but wait, where did it go? i know the pic is no good bc of the glare/reflection/etc...but it is literally that foggy outside- in real life, i can see nothing except grey fog out my window for miles and miles. as if we didn't already feel cramped in this room. :) fog is weird.

yesterday i let ridge try some "puffs" and some baby mum-mums (kind of like big dissolving crackers...but not messy like those biter biscuit things). i don't know if i'm supposed to let him have food yet, but i did. and he liked it. and he knew exactly what to do with it. and yes, his dad wore camo up here to the hospital. in his defense, he'd been hunting all weekend. in my defense, i don't think he went hunting sunday morning when he left hollis. but he still wore his camo. um....moving on.

i don't even need to caption this photo. but let me tell you- he'd been wearing that underwear all afternoon and he didn't mind one bit putting them straight on his face. he did this with zero prompting. in fact, he had just been asked to put them on his BOTTOM.

first of all, my shirt is wet bc my hair was wet. i don't want anyone getting too confused here. second of all...ridge loves me. and i love ridge.

so...sawyer's little 3 year old class had a thanksgiving lunch today, and parents were invited to attend. brandon and i both were able to go to the event...and as i am typing this i realize one of the pictures that was taken is not showing up in my imports or on my mem. card at all..how annoying! of course it's the one of all 3 of us. stuuuupid.

anyway, here's some 10:30 am elementary school cafeteria thanksgiving pics for ya. and can i just say i was amazed that those little 3 year olds could carry their lunch trays? seriously.

when brandon told sawyer we'd be eating lunch w/ him, he said, "daddy, will you get a tray like me or are you going to bring your lunch?" ha ha.

so...this is funny bc sawyer went straight for the pumpkin pie.

i will decipher this for you. left to right. green beans and dressing in the cups. hot roll. pumpkin pie. mashed potatoes w/ turkey and gravy. i'm not gonna lie-- it was good. especially those rolls.

okay, these pics don't show faces on purpose-- i didn't want to invade any privacy. but can i just say, the entire reason we even took these pictures is in this thought-- how is it 3 year olds canwill line up....but most high schoolers can not/will not?

I can't help it-- we have a pretty handsome boy.

We also have a tired daddy. And mommy. I' m not posting the picture that proves I'm tired.

We also have a little brother who ADORES his big brother so much that he squeals with delight when Sawyer enters the room!

Sawyer, however, does not always enjoy the hair grabbing and squealing Ridge likes to pull over on him.

Ridge...he is getting better at sitting up. Even if he does sit like a seal.

I'm not sure what our plans are for this Halloween. But I do know, although I am downtrodden that I wasn't as creative as some of my friends who were smart enough to realize multiple children make for super cute thematic costumes, I still have some really cute munchkins.

okay, so i'm not all about bragging, but see...i love to sew. i always sew sawyer's costumes....but i was not hauling my machine up to the hospital. that's weird. so....enter...the duct tape. yes, folks. that's a black sweatsuit outfitted with duct tape. you don't have to tell me how impressed you are. oh, the american flag patch? i'm not bringing an iron here either. enter...the chi hair straightener. innovative? i know...you are sitting there in awe of costume greatness. i will give you a second to catch your breath.

bc no lie, that was the cutest costume i've ever seen. okay, so i found a pic. this kid isn't near as cute as little owen was in the sheep costume, but take a look here at what the costume itself looks like. i also got really no pics of the rest of our clan, and i am disappointed in myself for that. however, the right picture here shows sawyer's epic fail at bowling...he was kind of shy that night. but you can see the spiderman and the rainbow brite who hung out with us that night.

now, i love my three year old. and i am impressed with my mad costume making skills. but you better catch your breath for the epic cuteness that is about to follow. i did not make this lion costume, i won't even lie. but every time i think of one of my fat babies wearing it, i want to squeeze them. so will you.

and here are some shots of the two together. i know, there is no cohesiveness in their costumes. see...i wasn't creative enough. but rest assured, when we have three kids, i will for sure not mess up the third one's first halloween. and see-- all of you with one child who never would've thought to theme your future children's costumes...well, now you can thank me, bc you will be inspired.

so...our friends chris and julie came and took some pictures of our family playing outside at the hospital the other day. not these. these were just my horrible job...we were just killing time, so i thought i'd get some pics of the guys. we're really blessed bc we have several friends who do photography on the side. chris has just started building up his business, and i can't wait to see the pics he got!

see...i'm supposed to pay attention when i take the picture...but i didn't...that's why it's not centered. and i was too lazy to go back and crop it just now.

now this one...it's cute.

So I thought I'd start another blog of just pictures. That way, if you really would rather just read what's going on you can totally skip the pictures and just go to this lovely page. And if you like the pictures, well, you can hang out right on here as well.

Just trying to get it all set up, so I will put up some of my favorite pics of my kiddos as a test.
